The library's summer reading program rewards children, teens and adults for reaching their reading goals. But the road to success isn't a smooth one in a town filled with dreamers, and Retta begins to have doubts: can she make her mark while staying true to herself?

With a beaten-down car, a pocketful of hard-earned waitressing money and stars in her eyes, Retta sets out to make it big in Nashville. Her newest book, Somebody Everybody Listens To, is the story of Retta Lee Jones, a girl blessed with a beautiful voice and big dreams of leaving her tiny Tennessee hometown. Supplee is the author of "Artichoke's Heart," "When Irish Guys Are Smiling" and "Somebody Everybody Listens To." She will read and talk about the writing process followed by a Q&A session and book signing. Monday, May 24, at the East Tennessee History Center, 601 S. Suzanne Supplee will launch Knox County Public Library's Teen Summer Reading program with a visit at 7 p.m. Young adult author kicks off teen reading
